The Infinite Penitence

This is a test demo containing a story fragment from the first chapter of The Whispers Forest, a mystery, horror, and dark fantasy visual novel that is in development. It is intended to be an immersive experience in which we enter a sinister forest with no way out and meet other people who have been there much longer and who are mostly hostile at first. These people stand out for seeming to hide something. We will have to use tricks, alliances and betrayals to discover the secrets of the forest and get out of there. Furthermore, in this version the danger to our lives in the forest has been highlighted; the inhabitants of the forest have a strange interest in our soul.

The musical pieces and some sound effects that appear are free internet resources that have been modified to adapt to the intention of the project, it is possible that they will remain that way. Credit to the creators of these resources.

The art and design of characters and CGs are from SkyKnit Games, the graphical interface is from Kaytam Projects and the backgrounds have been provisionally generated with artificial intelligence and edited with Gimp.
